STATEMENT: TAF Coalition Statement on DOJ Corporate Whistleblower Awards Pilot Program
Washington, DC – Today, the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division announced the launch of its Corporate Whistleblower Pilot Program.
“We are encouraged that the Department of Justice is taking steps to fill gaps in enforcement and adopted many of the best practices of other agencies,” said Jacklyn DeMar, President & CEO of The Anti-Fraud Coalition. “We look forward to engaging in further discussions about the broad discretionary nature of the award process and other concerns.”
In remarks today, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco outlined the new pilot program and its goals, “The program we’re launching today incorporates thoughtful input we’ve received, and it scales up and broadens the reach of whistleblower activity.”
Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Nicole M. Argentieri encouraged whistleblowers to come forward under the new program, “With this Pilot Program, we are sending a message to individuals who know about corporate misconduct: Our tip line is open, so if you see something, say something.”
