WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) unveiled new legislation to strengthen the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Whistleblower Awards Program.
In response, Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund President & CEO Jeb White released the following statement:
We applaud Senators Grassley and Wyden for unveiling this important legislation to strengthen the IRS Whistleblower Program. This successful program enabled the IRS to collect more than $6 billion from millionaires and big businesses caught dodging taxes, and the seven measures included in The IRS Whistleblower Program Improvement Act is a huge step forward toward realizing the programs full potential and the value whistleblowers add to enforcement.
